Ahead of the release of his forthcoming Just In Case project, Puerto Rican MC Mike Towers returns with a brand new single, “Amor Juvenil.” Falling squarely in line with Towers’ well-established morose style, “Juvenil” is built around a muted, sparse production with pounding bass. The track tackles the struggles of a young love that has grown tired and more challenging as the honeymoon period has ended. The first half of the track finds Towers dropping verses in a sing-song lullaby style, before switching up to a quicker-paced trap delivery halfway through. From there, Towers’ flow switches back and forth until the song fades out.

It’s an added layer to Towers’ repertoire, which combines the sensibilities of megawatt sad boys like Drake and the new hip-hop style brewing on the island. As one of the younger members of the new movement, Towers is poised to become a force to be reckoned with both in the Caribbean and beyond. Already cosigned by French Montana and with a well-received SXSW set under his belt, Towers has an impressive bit of buzz leading into Just In Case’s arrival. A second single is set to drop before the project as well – keep your eyes peeled here for that release coming soon.

To mark the release of the single, Mike Towers put together an exclusive playlist for us via Apple Music.
