“Sparkles” is the second song on Spanish producer Skygaze‘s new EP Smooth, and he has some talent picking names, because those three words perfectly describe the feelings the song evokes when you hit play.
“Sparkles” is an instrumental hip hop number with that sounds influenced by the LA beats scene from a few years ago, but interpreted in Skygaze’s own way. The end result produces a cinematic feel, like you’re on the road, say, gazing at the sky. The nervous bassline is fun, and there’s something about those synths that has a nostalgic quality to it, especially when conjugated with the chimes.
