We don’t know much about Real Sofoke Hiigh, but the rapper-singer seems to have gained a small YouTube following. The videos, which include a handful of original tracks and impromptu webcam performances, have started popping up since last year. Now she has tackled a remix of Future’s ever-present “Fuck Up Some Commas” with “Soy La Que Sofoca.”
Compared with some of her earlier efforts, the DJ Spinz/Southside-produced instrumental seems to provide the right backdrop for Sofoke to really strut her stuff, which she does without apology. Hopefully she can take on some equally hard beats in the future to show off her skills.
Though this isn’t the first Spanish remix of “Commas” we’ve heard (Messiah dropped his a few months back), it’s definitely worth a listen, especially to find out what all the hype behind Sofoke’s YouTube account is about.
