Spiff TV is set to make waves in trap music with his long-awaited hip-hop and reggaeton crossover album The Union. An ambitious effort years in the making, the project aims to unite mainstream rap stars with their equally stuntin’ Latin trap and reggaeton counterparts. Boasting a tracklist of collaborations you could only dream of, the music video director, producer, writer, and A&R delivers a much-anticipated taste of what’s to come with “Thinkin” featuring Bad Bunny, Anuel AA, and Future. The track collides trap worlds, bringing together the Atlanta star who brought the genre to mainstream heights and the Puerto Rican rappers who reinterpreted it for a certified bop.
“Thinkin” also sees Spiff bring his Florida affiliates along for the ride, enlisting The Runners of early DJ Khaled production fame for the macabre beat. Having previously connected Future and Yandel in 2016 for single “Mi Combo,” Spiff TV recruits the Freebandz frontman once again to deliver on what Señor Hendrix does best: boast about his extravagant and cinematic lifestyle.
Future’s vocals float on the hook as he sings about reality star affairs, substance-induced luxury automobile collisions, and luxe purchases. Bad Bunny jumps into his verse detailing a lean-induced quest for his next Miami-based mami. El Conejo Malo goes on to note his airline and alcohol preferences, even name dropping a kickback with Future, Obama, and Lebron James and references to Puerto Rican models Natalia Rivera and Mimi Pabón. Anuel AA provides the second verse with just a few rapid-fire bars referencing his tats and name dropping some designer brands before Future closes the pictorial recap off with a melodic bridge on chiefing gas out the nearby gas station. As Spiff TV himself would say, “legend shit.”
