Weirdo Mexican netlabel Σшρτγ started operating last year, serving as a new meeting point for obscure electronic acts from around the country who think alike, not only covering music, but also design and other art realms. Their latest release is the third EP by Monterrey producer Arnvs, titled LCFR or: A Triptych of the Dawn Bringer.
“Svperbia” is the opener, and its main feature is that it’s so ridiculously minimal it works. Backed by a steady pulsating kick drum and a matched simple bassline, there are rippling sounds of palm-muted delayed guitars dancing around your ears, while more clicking percussive elements come into play. A beautiful electric piano arpeggio also appears sometimes, and when it does, it resembles the track that closes Arca’s &&&&& mixtape, “Obelisk.”
