Just in time to capitalize on this week’s J Balvin buzz, Ferraz, one of our favorite Venezuelan producers, has dropped a classy remix of Balvin and Farruko‘s massive hit, “6 am“. Yesterday, Balvin withdrew from his upcoming Miss USA performance – which would have been his first national mainstream TV performance – in protest of Donald Trump’s infuriating-yet-unsurprising recent comments about Mexicans.
In this track makeover, Ferraz strips off the song’s reggaeton clothes and dresses it in a silky R&B suit that feels like it was meant to be. It really accentuates the R&B influence the song has always had – a direction Balvin has hinted he’s interested in pursuing down the line – and while it’s not his most recent track, this remix turns it around and gives it new life.
