Tei Shi‘s Verde EP continues to be one of this year’s most beautifully striking releases, and even though it’s only got five tracks, every single one of them feels like a gem. Such is the case for “Go Slow,” which was originally a pop affair with some sweet R&B seduction. The song was perfect as it was, so we never expected someone like Atlanta rapper Rome Fortune to hop on it, but the result is unexpectedly great.
The music is pretty much identical to the original track, with Rome Fortune taking over the verses and acting as a counterpoint to Tei Shi’s sweet and sensuous vocals, asking to take things slowly. He, instead, sounds like he’s an urgent lover and wants to cut straight to the chase.
