Watch Andrea Balency’s Trippy “Waterfalls” Video

We already talked about the dark and daring sounds embraced on Andrea Balency‘s new EP Volcano, just released on Bataille. One of its strongest tracks is “Waterfalls,” which is not a TLC cover, but rather one of her constant vocal explorations over an eerie backdrop.

Now, the song has an accompanying music video, and it is spiky. Directed and animated by Natalia Stuyk, it’s an appealing digital manipulation of the Franco-Mexican singer’s body and her surroundings, where the colors black, white, and blue predominate. Plain lines come to life when nervous digital spikes pop out, like adding a new dimension, while ink-like color stains invade the screen. All of this while Balency sensuously performs the song, often looking like Björk on the Vulnicura cover art.
