Elsa Carvajal is part of a new wave of Colombian composers and her U.S.-based project Elsa y Elmar is ready to take over. She describes her recent work as “spiritual pop,” and her heartfelt approach is evident on single “Exploradora,” a track that has already garnered attention from Latin American blogs and show producers.
In this live version of “Exploradora,” she and her band give a soulful, slow burning performance that builds to a danceable groove.
Elsa has already played a few big shows, including Colombia’s Festival Estereo Picnic, and she’s set to perform at the Santa Fe Festival with Porter in July (we’re actually giving away tickets to that show). Her plans also include the production of a new album, so stay tuned.
