Monterrey’s Future Den has dropped a broken beat/r&b/trap track to innovate the hip hop aesthetic on “818,” the lead single from his forthcoming album on Finesse Records, In The Game. The surrealist video, which premiered on NWLA, was directed by Oscar Adrián González of Fantasma Films, telling a Monterrey-set tale of the protagonist, Varlayanne. The story, which the creative team hoped would depart from the typical imagery associated with music videos, shows the dark, multi-dimensional version of the city that Varlayanne inhabits.
