This year, Latine viewers were more than excited to see Bad Bunny have his very own float among other iconic characters like Snoopy, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Star Wars.
Inspired by his latest album Un Verano Sin Ti, the float was an inflated version of his frowning heart character, as seen on the album cover and merch. The heart wore Adidas sneakers to represent Benito’s upcoming collaboration with the brand. The parade’s television hosts shared that the float signifies a reminder that the spirit of summer remains no matter what season it is.
Many fans were sharing their excitement for this moment online.
Some fans actually got a sneak peek at the float before the parade, capturing it getting inflated on a New York City street. “Wow, I got to witness history today when I stood at the right time as they inflated Benito’s balloon for Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade,” wrote one Tiktok user.
This float comes off of recent success moments for Bad Bunny. After receiving five Latin Grammy awards this month, Un Verano Sin Ti was named TIME Magazine’s Best Album of 2022. He’s currently on the last half of his World’s Hottest Tour Latin American leg and was just nominated for three Grammy awards for next year’s ceremony.
