New details are emerging on Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello’s divorce.
Allegedly, Joe Manganiello filed for divorce from Sofia Vergara on Wednesday (July 19) in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, two days after the couple publicly announced their split. He reportedly also listed July 2 as the date of separation.
Legal documents filed by the family lawyer, Laura Wasser, reportedly cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the couple’s split. Each party will allegedly pay their own attorney fees.
According to TMZ, the legal documents reveal that the couple had a prenuptial agreement in place and will each keep the assets they had accumulated over their 7-year marriage.
Rumors and speculation have also risen behind the couple’s decision to split, including their opposing views on children (supposedly Manganiello wants children and Sofia does not) and reports that their marriage was affected by Manganiello’s sobriety. Vergara has an adult son, Manolo, 31, from a previous marriage. The couple do not share any children.
News of the separation broke while Vergara was spending her last days of vacation in Italy. She posted pictures to Instagram in Ravello, Italy, on Monday (July 17). One of the top comments on the post was by her Modern Family co-star, Julie Bowen.
