There’s nothing like being at a professional sporting event live. Whether it’s watching your favorite NBA team from expensive courtside seats or witnessing a match between rival soccer teams from a nosebleed section of a stadium, being at a game in person just hits differently than watching it at home on a big-screen TV.
But how much money would you spend to see your favorite team or one of your favorite athletes compete? If you’re a fan of boxer Canelo Álvarez (57-2-2), you better dig deep into your pockets if you plan on attending his next fight.
If you want a good view inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, for Álvarez’s matchup against Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1) this fall, you better be ready to shell out more than $5,000 per seat. While there are nosebleed seats going for $305, if you want to be closer to the action, it’s going to put a sizable dent in your bank account (assuming you’re not a celebrity millionaire, who are normally the attendees you see sitting in ringside seats).
The Álvarez-Golovkin fight this September will be the third time the boxers meet in the ring. Álvarez got the best of Golovkin in 2018 when he won by majority decision. The year before, the duo fought to a controversial draw.
Álvarez is coming off a disappointing loss to Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol earlier this year. It was only the second loss of his career. Golovkin is on a four-fight winning streak himself. In his last match earlier this year, he beat Japanese boxer Ryōta Murata. Bivol’s only loss in his career is to Álvarez.
The third Canelo Álvarez and Gennady Golovkin fight takes place on September 17, 2022.
