Game After Game, Chicharito Proves Real Madrid and Manchester United Wrong

After seeing Javier “Chicharito” Hernández score for the fifth game in a row, one can only wonder if Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal is regretting his decision to let the Mexican striker go. With four goals in this year’s Champions League, Chicharito is one of the tournament’s top scorers. He’s tied for second place with Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller, and Zenit’s Artem Dzyuba.

Hernández is also only one goal behind current top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo…and Manchester United. You read that right: the whole team of Manchester United only has one more goal in the Champions League than Chicharito.

Real Madrid might also be reconsidering whether they did the right thing by not giving Chicharito his fair share of opportunities. With Karim Benzema semi-injured and allegedly involved in some strange sex-tape blackmailing scheme against fellow French player Mathieu Valbuena, they could use a player like ChichaGol.

I am tempted to say Javier Hernández is back, but the truth is that despite the embarrassing misses and a few minutes given in the past seasons, whenever the dude played, he scored, without any regard for his opponents and the competition. Now he’s simply doing the same, but more often. One can’t help but notice that Chicha is feeling more comfortable as he spends more time on the field.

Hernández rejected a 10 million dollar per season offer from the MLS, but with his recent performance, he’s definitely justifying that decision.
