Cuba Skate is a D.C.-based non-profit that aims to foster Cuba’s skate community and connect them with the rest of the world. Founded by Miles Jackson, who spent some time living in Havana and fell in with the city’s dedicated but under-equipped skater scene, the organization has already poured resources into repairing the city’s sole skatepark, El Patinódromo — no easy feat considering the embargo makes it difficult to send supplies or money.

Recently, Jackson put out Cuba Skate’s first zine – filled with great photos of Havana’s skaters and information about the non-profit’s recent and upcoming initiatives. Check it out below for an inside look at the skater spots in Havana, original artwork on boards, and great portraits of the Cuban skating community:
