The 2022 World Cup is only a couple of months away, and we now know what the Mexican national team will look like while playing the tournament. Mexico’s official home kit had already been announced – the famous green – and now the away kit has also been released, with a design that celebrates Mexico’s pre-Hispanic memory and the country’s indigenous roots.

Among the elements present in the shirt are malinalli, conch shell, spiral, staff, and new fire; items that display the history, roots, and culture of Mexico. They are all seen in red with a white background.

The Mexico national team will take the field wearing their away kit for the first time at a friendly against Paraguay, to be played in Atlanta, Georgia on August 31st.

Mexico’s national team wasn’t the only one whose away kit was recently announced. Adidas also unveiled the Argentina away kit, with their big star Lionel Messi wearing the kit for the announcement. The kit features a violet tone inspired by gender equality that promotes “the values of diversity and inclusion,” Adidas said in a press release. The kit also features the May sun on the back of the neck, and its rays are reflected in the fabric of the garment.

These two teams are set to play each other in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, which is set to begin on November 20th, as they are both parts of Group C. Their game has already been set for November 26th. No word yet on which team will be wearing the away kit then, but hopefully, both will get a chance to wear both their kits plenty of times during the tournament.

Both kits are now available for purchase at Adidas and select physical stores.
