This is a landmark moment in the history of American football. The Hispanic Football Hall of Fame (HFHOF), an organization founded to honor the achievements and cultural contributions of Hispanic players, coaches, and leaders across all levels of the sport, has now been established.

The HFHOF aims to celebrate Hispanic legends, preserve history and culture, and inspire the next generation. Its mission, however, extends beyond the playing field, highlighting the impact Hispanic athletes and coaches have had on shaping the game while providing role models for young players who dream of following in their footsteps.

Among the driving forces behind this initiative are two iconic figures: Ron Rivera, a former NFL head coach, Super Bowl champion, two-time NFL Coach of the Year, and proud son of Puerto Rican heritage; and Anthony Muñoz, a Pro Football Hall of Fame offensive lineman of Mexican descent, regarded as one of the greatest to ever play the position. Both Rivera and Muñoz serve as Founding Board Members, lending their experience, legacy, and vision to ensure the Hall becomes a lasting institution.

“The Hispanic Football Hall of Fame gives us an opportunity to tell the stories of incredible people who not only achieved greatness on the field, but also opened doors and inspired countless young people in our communities,” Rivera said. Muñoz echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that the HFHOF is about honoring the past while also building a platform for the future.

Working alongside the NFL, the HFHOF will organize an International Flag Football Championship as well as camps that showcase elite Hispanic high school players from across the globe.

The HFHOF will feature exhibits, events, and educational programs, culminating in its inaugural “Celebración de Fútbol” Induction Ceremony in spring 2026.

NFL Executive VP Troy Vincent, Sr. is also lending his voice and support through the HFHOF International Advisory Committee, while noteworthy journalists and broadcasters are among the selection committee chaired by Sandy Núñez, NFL Network Vice President and HFHOF Board Member. Other Selection Committee members include Judy Battista, Rolando Cantú, Paul Gutierrez, Brandon Huffman, Moisés Linares, Alex Marvez, Armando Salguero, and John Sutcliffe.

By recognizing pioneers and empowering future generations, the Hispanic Football Hall of Fame is poised to become a cornerstone of football’s cultural and historical narrative.
