Super Bowl LVIII was one for the ages, with the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers going into overtime, where the Chiefs finally pulled off a 25-22 win. After the victory, the Chiefs got to celebrate with cigars, champagne, and some dancing. That’s pretty much along the lines of what Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco loves, and he got to both showcase his dance moves and his Puerto Rican pride during the celebration.
Pacheco, who is of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent, was seen walking around with the Puerto Rican flag draped around his shoulders, going out of his way to showcase it and point out exactly what it was – even when he wasn’t the one being interviewed.
“You gotta represent,” Pacheco said on live TV. “You don’t got too many Puerto Ricans doing this thing. You always got to represent your country.”
And why wouldn’t Pacheco be proud? He’s the only Latino in the Kansas City Chiefs, which makes him the only Latino to win the Super Bowl. And he’s done so two years in a row, as Kansas City also won the Super Bowl in 2023, becoming the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls since the 2003-2004 New England Patriots.
Pacheco also made a substantial contribution to the Chiefs’ hard-earned win this year, rushing for 59 yards on 18 carries. He also caught six passes for 33 yards.
Two-time Super Bowl winner Isiah Pacheco sounds sweet indeed. And Pacheco and the Chiefs don’t feel like they’re done. The word dynasty keeps being thrown around. And this is a young team, so why not? The sky’s the limit for Pacheco and his team going forward. No team has ever won three Super Bowls in a row. Kansas City will try next year.
