The MLS’ big signings continue to pay off, and the MLS All-Star game against Tottenham Spurs is proof.
After a rousing rendition of the National Anthem by La Santa Cecilia, Kaká and David Villa led the squad to a 2-1 victory over the English team.
Kaká put the score at 1-0 with a penalty kick, and Villa put it at 2-0 after redirecting a cross by the Brazilian player.
Mexican-Filipino-American Goalkeeper Nick Rimando also had a great game; he stopped two balls at the goal line and kept the score at 0 until Englishman Henry Kane was able to put a ball past Mexican-American defender Omar Gonzalez and score a great goal from outside the goal box.
The MLS-designated players continue to have a positive effect on the league, and make it clear they are here to play and not just for tourism.
