Jules Constantinople is PWHL-bound. The Northeastern defender of Puerto Rican and Italian descent was drafted by the Vancouver Goldeneyes with the 25th overall pick in the 2026 PWHL Draft and is set to become the first member of our communities to play in the women’s hockey league.
Constantinople comes to the PWHL after building a very strong defensive resume in college hockey. She was named Hockey East Best Defender (2025-26), was a Hockey East First Team All-Star (2025-26), made the Hockey East All-Tournament Team (2024, 2025, 2026), and was a New England Division I All-Star (2024-25, 2025-26).
In her last year in college, she skated in all 39 games, tallying a career-high seven goals, 17 assists, and 24 points. Constantinople ranked fourth in the nation with a career-high 89 blocks. She also got one goal, one assist, and 18 blocks through three games in the Hockey East Tournament, which earned her a spot on the All-Tournament team for the third straight year.
“I was really anxious, and then when you hear your name get called, you kind of black out,” Constantinople told News8 about being drafted. “But it was a dream come true. So many emotions. (It) still hasn’t hit me yet.”
She also stressed the hard work that has gotten her here and the sacrifices made by her family, which she said she was extremely grateful for. “I don’t regret anything. I love stepping on the ice every day,” she said. “If you don’t love it, what is the point at the end of the day?”
The new PWHL season will begin in November. Next season, the PWHL is growing from 8 to 12 teams, adding new franchises in Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas, and San Jose
