Becoming “more Miami” has been at the center of the Marlins’ rebranding. First, there was the new logo, which I kind of like:
Then there were the new uniforms, which I don’t really like even a little bit. Now there’s this unofficial anthem for the Marlins recorded by singer Sarah Spiegel making the internet rounds. It’s gotten panned almost universally, and the Marlins have made a pretty big deal of how not involved with this they are. Still, I’m not sure it merits all the ire its gotten. If it’s got anything going for it, it’s that it’s definitely Miami.
