The cleat is an embodiment of Neymar’s life mantra on and off the pitch: Daring and joyful. “I associate ‘Alegria’ with the joy of living and playing football, which I love most,” he explains in the Nike release video, “and ‘Ousadia’ with having the audacity to do something different, which people don’t expect to see.”
It’s a motto that Barcelona’s Brazilian phenom has been carrying for quite some time now. If you’re unsure, peep the tattoos on both of the crack’s calves.
The beautifully intricate and abstract graphics featured on the boots (different for left and right feet) were made by renowned Brazilian artist and designer Bruno Carneiro Mosciaro, Bruno Big for short. A hand and heart make up the focal points on either foot.
Bruno Big even painted a giant canvas comprised of 1,000 shoeboxes in order to commemorate the launch of the gorgeous cleat. He had the honor of delivering the first pair to Neymar, too.
