The NFL is returning to Mexico City in 2026, and the league is also set to play a game in Brazil. It is the latest announcement in the league’s push to expand into our communities, and proof of the game’s growing presence in Latin America.
Mexico City is set to host a game in 2026, 2027, and 2028, according to the new announcement. The games will take place at Estadio Banorte. Mexico has the largest fanbase outside of the United States, with approximately 40 million NFL fans. Regular season games have been played at Estadio Banorte in 2005, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
“We are delighted to bring regular‑season NFL games back to Mexico City beginning in 2026, reaffirming our deep and long‑standing connection with fans across the country,” said NFL Mexico Director General Arturo Olivé. “Estadio Banorte has hosted some incredibly memorable moments in our international history, and returning here underscores our commitment to growing the sport at every level in the market.”
The NFL also announced it was extending its broadcast partnership with TelevisaUnivision.
“This is an exciting moment for the NFL in Mexico, and we look forward to building on this momentum for years to come,” Olivé also said.
In 2026, there will be a record of nine international NFL games played across four continents. Sixty-two regular-season NFL games have been played around the world so far, with games being played in London, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Madrid, Dublin, São Paulo, Mexico City, and Toronto.
The upcoming NFL season will see games being played in Melbourne, Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil at the Maracanã Stadium, Munich, Germany at FC Bayern Munich Arena, London, with stadiums yet to be announced, Madrid, Spain at the Bernabéu Stadium, Paris, France, at the Stade de France Stadium and Mexico City, Mexico at the Estadio Banorte.
