For NikeLab’s Summer of Sport series, the brand tapped Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing. Throughout the process, the 30-year-old French designer asked himself if the item made sense for a futbolista’s life off the pitch. “Fashion is usually about the catwalk and the glamour, but with Nike it was about performance and the athletes,” Rousteing said about theFootball Nouveau collection, according to Nike. “What I love about this collection is that we are integrating the iconic style of football into sport style.”
Cristiano – who already fronts campaigns for his own CR7 line – is one of the few models featured in the recently released lookbook. Already sharing Kim Kardashian’s preference for perfectly manicured eyebrows and golden tans, Cristiano can now say he’s worked with her favorite designer, too.
