Our people have long been rooted in the American sport of football. Their pride shines bright in small-town flag football games all the way to the National Football League. This month for Our Heritage Month, the NFL is showing their pride in our culture and communities, and they are teaming up with two legends to do it. Superstar Ozuna and NFL giant Victor Cruz are partnering up for a variety of new culture and community-driven initiatives.

One of those initiatives includes the campaign driven to celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of its fans. “Por La Cultura” is the mantra for the crusade. A new spot has dropped with powerful messaging that celebrates a “game where every flag is created equal.” And in a bold move, the NFL is also incorporating a tilde, a foundation in the Spanish language, over the “N” in NFL.

On the community level, the NFL is also partnering with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation to acknowledge Latine youth throughout the country. Later in the season, a select few will be given grants in support of their college education.

Of course, you don’t have to be a player to show your pride and love of football. A line of exclusive merchandise has been designed in support of Por La Cultura. They include varsity jackets, shirts, and hoodies. The collection will be available on the NFLShop.com starting on September 17.

Both Ozuna and Cruz will be featured in the campaign and help to advise throughout the season on engaging our communities. “I’m honored to be partnering with the NFL on such a groundbreaking new initiative to highlight the diversity of their fans, especially now during Latinx Heritage Month,” said Ozuna in a press release. “For the NFL to acknowledge, support, and encourage our culture is meaningful,” he continued.

A corresponding, yearlong, social aspect has also been launched in support of the initiative. El Snap is on Instagram and TikTok. This is in addition to the already existing @NFLenEspanol on Twitter and nfl.com/espanol. Not to mention some NFL clubs have their own Spanish language content.

In the meantime, the NFL is entering week two of the 2021 season.
