A surprising video of Real Madrid’s president Florentino Pérez just surfaced. In it, he demands an explanation from Cristiano Ronaldo for allegedly stating in an interview with Kicker Magazine that he wants to leave Madrid, and it’s uncomfortably weird.
Florentino normally greets the Real Madrid players as they are entering the locker rooms before every game, but why he would choose to address CR7 regarding the issue at that particular time (with cameras present) is not just strange, it’s also a dick move.
And I’m sure Cristiano is not happy, especially given the size of his ego and the fact that few (if any) people in his life talk to him that way.
Florentino Pérez is far from being a beloved figure in soccer. The 68-year-old billionaire is famous for being involved in shady deals that far surpass the scope of Real Madrid.
In fact, Pérez is a major douchebag. We just have to remember the way he mistreated Keylor Navas before this season began, or how Iker Casillas was practically kicked off the team he had been a part of for his entire life. In an interview for Diario AS, Casillas’ agent also stated that “Florentino is not a racist, but he doesn’t like black players and that’s why they get paid less.” Um, I’m pretty sure that’s not how not-being-a-racist works.
