Tonight will be the traditional Noche Amarilla: a night of fireworks, player and uniform presentations, and of course, soccer. Ecuadorian team Barcelona de Guayaquil has been holding this yearly celebration since the mid-90s, and this year’s edition comes with an extra highlight: Ronaldinho Gaúcho. Not only will the former Brazilian Barcelona star be present for tonight’s event, but fans also had the opportunity to wine and dine him at the Hilton Colón Hotel in Guayaquil last night.

For $250, hundreds of people attended this extension of the Noche Amarilla. Along with Ronaldinho, the entire Barcelona de Guayaquil team was present, and Ecuadorian singer Gustavo Enrique serenaded the attendees. The event organizers also gave away 100 special edition team jerseys with the number 91, the same one Ronaldinho will use during his only game with the Torero team.
The new player and uniform presentations, as well as the exhibition game against Peruvian team Universidad San Martin, will take place tonight at the Estadio Monumental Isidro Romero Carbo. These days, Ronaldinho is far from being the best player on the planet, but it’s hard to imagine a soccer fan who would turn down a chance to chill with Ronaldinho for a night.
