Days before his fight against John Molina, Victor Ortiz turned himself in to Ventura County Sheriffs after being accused of rape. A woman reported the crime on March 19, and after a months-long investigation, the district attorney filed charges and police issued a warrant for his arrest. The 31-year-old posted $100,000 bail and was released, but he’s due in court on October 10 where he faces multiple sexual assault charges, according to CNN.

Joseph “Hoss” Janik, Ortiz’s trainer, said the boxer denied the allegations, but Victor has not spoken out. His opponent Molina, however, issued an apology to his fans and said the fight was officially canceled. He doesn’t mention the rape allegations and calls them uncontrollable circumstances (which they are not).
