Iconic Mexican singer Ana Gabriel shocked fans by revealing her marriage during a live on Instagram. The notoriously private singer didn’t confirm her spouse’s identity or when the marriage took place, but said she was looking forward to going on a honeymoon soon and showed off her wedding ring as proof of her secret wedding.

“In 2025 I’m going on my honeymoon. I already have someone to accompany me on my honeymoon. Only two people are going to my honeymoon, just two of us,” the singer said.

Journalist Jorge Carbajal confirmed the news of Ana Gabriel’s wedding and named her new wife as a Peruvian psychologist named Silvana Rojas. According to Carbajal, Rojas has been by Ana Gabriel’s side as the singer recovered from the pneumonia she caught during her recent tour of Latin America.

Ana Gabriel has long been considered an LGBTQ+ icon, particularly because of songs like “Simplemente Amigos” and “Quién como tú.” There were even rumors linking her to another Mexican singer, Daniela Romo, during the 80s. The singer has never spoken publicly about her sexuality, and has dodged the question throughout her career, at some point even declaring she was “asexual as the angels.”

“On November 30 I will be in Miami, from there I will go to Costa Rica, and from Costa Rica, I will go to the Dominican Republic and that is where I will close the Un Deseo Más 2024 tour,” the singer said about her tour. After that she will be taking a break, and going on that long-awaited honeymoon.

The Un Deseo Más 2024 Tour celebrates Ana Gabriel’s 50-year career. She has sold over 40 million records during that time.
