This week, Twitter blew up with people sharing their stories about being raised in different cultures. Things like #GrowingUpBlack and #GrowingUpFilipino took over the social media network. #GrowingUpHispanic was also filled with posts reminiscing about the most bizarre parts of Latino culture. To me, the best part was that although Latin America can’t agree on how to say certain words (is it fútbol or futbol?), there are many experiences that tie us together. Also, it gave me a reason to look up Walter Mercado pictures and get reacquainted with his signature poses.
