If you can’t make it to Corpus this weekend for the epic, sold-out Fiesta de la Flor festival commemorating the 20th anniversary of Selena’s death, fret not. There will be plenty of opportunities to bidi-bidi-booty-pop here in NYC. This Friday night at Fula Lounge in South Williamsburg, queer club night Azucar! will be throwing Amor Prohibido, a Selena tribute dance party will satisfy all your cumbia-pop needs.

The event is hosted by Lady Quesa’Dilla, NYC’s very own drag China Poblana, and will feature music by Nire (rumored to be working with Maluca and Nani Castle), False Witness, Shomi Noise, and Izla. As if you needed more, there’s a contest for the best Selena-inspired looks, with some serious Selena swag up for grabs.

So fill in those brows and come pay tribute to our beloved Chicana princess. More info on the event here.
