A collaboration comeback between handbag designer, Telfar, and Brazilian footwear brand, Melissa, was announced this week, with new shopper bags and jelly sandals just in time for the summer. The announcement of the drop was shared on Telfar’s Instagram account on Monday (6/24), with a video of a model in a pool of water alongside a mini purple “Telly Jelly” bag. The video is on brand with the 2023 Telfar X Melissa drops, which featured models in transparent pools of water surrounded by ethereal lightning and sound.
The caption of the Instagram video says: “TELFAR x MELISSA NEW COLORS DROPPING THIS THURSDAY 6/27 NOON ET TELLY JELLY SHOPPERS + SLIDES IN PURPLE + GREEN + ORANGE.”
Last summer, Telfar and Melissa dropped the first line of jelly shopper bags and sandals, which were immediately sold out after launch. Just a few weeks later, a second drop was announced, featuring black and brown handbags and jelly sandals in the same colorways. Telfar and Melissa stans have immediately taken note. With several users on X, formerly Twitter, hyping up the latest colorway drops.
Other users are commenting on how the neon green Jelly bags are arriving just in time for “Brat” summer, referencing the popular release of the Charlie XCX’s Brat album.
Earlier this month, Melissa also announced a collaboration with luxury designer, Marc Jacobs, which features footwear in an array of styles, color, and material.
The Melissa x Telfar collab is set to drop on Telfar’s website on Thursday, June 27 at 12 PM EST.
