Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) will take on the Wings of Death on Thursday’s episode of the popular YouTube series Hot Ones. The Kenyan-Mexican talent is making an appearance on the show to promote her new film, A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel to the Quiet Place movie franchise.
In A Quiet Place: Day One, which hits theaters nationwide on Friday (June 28), Nyong’o plays Sam, a woman who finds herself in the middle of an alien invasion in New York City where the only way to survive is to avoid attracting the deadly creatures to them with even the slightest of sounds.
Nyong’o’s Hot Ones episode will be the sixth of the show’s 24th season. She is the first Latine to make an appearance in the current season and the first since Shakira chowed down during the last season in April.
Other Latines who have heated things up on the series in the last couple of seasons include Ice Spice, Carmelo Anthony and Cardi B. The Latine who still holds the title for most impressive Hot Ones episode in our book is Jenna Ortega, who didn’t flinch even once when she devoured her dozen hot wings in Season 20.
We’ll see if Lupita Nyong’o can stand strong against the spice. She’ll likely prove herself a worthy opponent against killer extraterrestrial invaders this week, so our money is on her defeating the fiery wings, too.
