Twitter Reveals Tías and Abuelas in Critical Condition After Luis Miguel’s Arrest

When Luis Miguel was arrested on Tuesday, nobody felt it more acutely than tías, and abuelas. El Sol de Mexico, who had a warrant for his arrest after failing to show up to court several times, turned himself in to United States marshals. In July 2016, a judge ordered Luismi to pay his former manager, William Brockhaus, more than $1 million. Brockhaus’ lawyers tried to get the ruling enforced in Los Angeles, where Luismi purchased a home, according to NBC. A few hours later, officials released Luismi on bond.

But as we learned through Twitter, things got dark for a while. As mamis, tías, and abuelas searched for answers about their beloved Luis Miguel, they sent GIFs, shed tears, and asked their children to empathize by imagining a world where “los mai quimical romans” were arrested. Here’s how Luismi’s core fanbase reacted after his arrest:
