Summer is almost over, but the heat shows no signs of letting up. Keenly attuned to sweaty seasonal ecstasy, Dominican pop chanteuse Letón Pé is following up her throbbing house single “¿Cuando Se Va’ir El Calor?” with yet another steamy slice of tongue-in-cheek pop called “TRÊS.” On the track, she’s hooked up with Dominican pop-rock heartthrob Giorgio Siladi to deliver a funky, throwback ode to polyamory, complete with towering harmonies and bouncy disco guitars. Premiering today (Sept. 5) exclusively on Remezcla, the Samuel S. Naval-directed music video finds the pair shacked up in a small apartment, restless and writhing, and eager to draft a third player into their sexy game.

Practically smearing the lens in vaseline, “TRÊS” is shot like a hazy wet dream. Scenes of Letón Pé rolling around in bed cut to Siladi stroking a guitar strategically nestled between his thighs. While the song unspools the tale of a man who discovers his lady with an unknown paramour, the story takes a twist when betrayal is quickly alchemized into desire and a game-changing invitation. “Súbete a mi nube de placer,” they coo on the bridge, mirrored in the clip with a three-way champagne toast and suggestive bites of juicy strawberries. Then comes the most devilish of covenants: “Dónde comen dos también comen tres.”

“Gio and I have known each other since we were wild kids going through puberty,” says Letón Pé via email, reminiscing on her formative days in musical theater, where she previously shared the stage with Siladi. “Even though art brought us together early on, so did our uninhibited nature. Focusing on pleasure [for this song] felt natural, and it was just a matter of finding a fresh narrative that also represented us. ‘TRÊS’ is about how delight shouldn’t tie us down, and how that exploration is vital to feeling alive and maintaining contact with ourselves.”

“We wanted to celebrate the freedom to live our sexuality how we choose,” adds Siladi, who is openly gay. The Dominican rock idol became a household name throughout the 2010s as the frontman for Bocatabú, famously inspiring the likes of Solo Fernández, before going solo in 2017, when he relocated to Mexico City and embraced an anthemic pop sound. “I identify with this song because, well, I’ve lived it,” he says, “But Leti and I also share that spontaneity. We were able to beautifully combine our respective sounds, and I think the result is elegant, fun, real, and without taboos.”

“TRÊS” is Letón Pé’s third team up with hit-making Colombian producer Julian Bernal, who also worked on “¿Cuando Se Va’ir El Calor?” and helmed records for Bratty, Esteman, and Elsa y Elmar. Despite her longstanding friendship with Siladi, Pé says the idea for the song came about in 2022 after joining him on stage at a concert, where the palpable chemistry between the two rendered the collaboration inevitable. Earlier this year, they met in Bernal’s Mexico City studio, melding their sensibilities for glossy pop and stadium rock into yet another smoldering teaser ahead of Pé’s highly anticipated next record.

“I’m embracing my maturity, my independence, my polarities, my sexuality, and my adulthood; all of this guilt free,” she teases of the new music ahead. “Given what we’ve just done on ‘TRÊS,’ I’d say we’re headed full speed in that direction.”
