In Fernando Milagros’ new video, “Al Interior” (San Sebastián‘s closing track), director Luciano Rubio pairs the spare, somber song with waves, shaky figures, and a slideshow that combs through the cosmic and the personal. This all culminates in the crux of the video: the appearance of a battered woman standing over a seemingly dead male body. It’s beautifully done and only furthers my theory that Fernando Milagros will have a very, very long career.
