For the first time, Playboy has hired a Creative Director in Residence, and it is none other than Cardi B. There’s the fact that the chart-topping music artist has never shied away from discussing her past as a stripper and makes a point to stand up for strippers on social media. She’s also never been one to hold back on her thoughts. That sense of openness and freedom made this a match for Cardi.

“For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt connected to Playboy. It’s truly the original platform for uncensored creativity, and I’m inspired by its incredible legacy of fighting for personal freedoms,” Cardi B said in a press release. “I have so many ideas already – I can’t wait!”

Cardi B will be working with the American institution of adult entertainment and giving artistic direction for Playboy. On social media, Cardi B gushed about how excited she is to join the Playboy family as the founding Creative Director and founding member of the new creator-led platform CENTERFOLD.

“Cardi B is a creative genius, and we are absolutely thrilled and honored to bring her immense talent and creative vision to Playboy,” Ben Kohn, chief executive officer of PLBY Group, told New York Post. “Through her unapologetic commitment to free expression, her dedication to lifting up artistic voices, and her celebration of sex and body positivity, Cardi is the embodiment of the Playboy brand.”

CENTERFOLD is a platform “dedicated to creative freedom, artistic expression, and sex-positivity, coming soon.” It will give leading creators a place to expand their fanbase and interact directly with fans.

We are so excited to see Cardi B leading Playboy’s artistic direction. Congrats, mija!
