Despegar, one of the biggest travel agencies in Latin America, has neatly wrapped up Pablo Escobar’s life in a four-hour tourist attraction. The website’s Pablo Escobar Tour costs $51 and starts at 8:30 a.m. Tourists will be able to visit the Colombian drug lord’s Hacienda Nápoles, Dallas building, and tomb. The narcotour, as some are calling it, is available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
It seems people are at least getting what they paid for, because Pablo’s brother, Roberto, is giving visitors a more personal look at the notorious figure. “The tour ends at Roberto’s house, where he will personally tell you some stories about his life, and he will open his house so that tourists can learn about the family’s archives and history,” the tour’s description boasts.

There are, of course, some Colombians who are understandably upset. The South American country has not been able to move past Pablo. Caracol reports that some of the criticism comes from people who say this tour is reinforcing the misconception that Colombia is all about cocaine.

Even though Despegar is the company that angered people with their tour, what they are doing is not unique. PaisaRoad also has an Escobar tour, and they aren’t afraid to throw shade at Despegar by saying theirs is superior and the original.
