Academy Award-nominated actor Edward James Olmos (Stand and Deliver) and actress Maia Reficco (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin) are revving up their engines to star in the motorcycle racing flick, One Fast Move.

According to Deadline, Olmos will play a small-town motorcycle shop owner who meets a dishonorably discharged soldier (KJ Apa) and helps him work through some of his emotional issues with his estranged father (Eric Dane), so that he can pursue his dream of becoming a motorcycle racer. Reficco will play an aspiring singer living in the same small town.

“I can’t even explain how excited I am for this one,” Reficco wrote on social media. “Dream of a project.”

Olmos, best known for his Oscar-nominated performance in the 1988 drama Stand and Deliver and for his roles in Latine films like Zoot Suit, American Me and Selena, has been keeping busy these days with his recurring role on the popular TV series Mayans M.C. The show debuted its fourth season earlier this year and was recently picked up for a fifth season.

During the fourth season, Olmos got the opportunity to work with his son, Michael D. Olmos, who directed an episode of Mayans M.C. for the first time. “New directors want to move the line and want to get [the episode] to a place where people can say, ‘Wow, [the series] has grown so much since he or she came on as director,’” Edward told Remezcla back in May. “Most of the directors we get [on Mayans] are really good. That’s the key. That’s what Mikey did.”

Reficco is a newcomer to Hollywood. Besides her role on the HBO Max series Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, she starred in the Spanish-language series Kally’s Mashup for Nickelodeon Latin America where she played – like she does in One Fast Move – an aspiring singer. Reficco is a pop and R&B artist in real life.
