After two critically acclaimed seasons, Netflix has canceled the comedy-drama series Gentefied and fans are letting the platform know how they feel about the decision online.

The second season of the series debuted this past November. Despite positive reviews across the board, the show was never able to break into Netflix’s Top 10, according to Deadline. The half-hour series was created by Marvin Lemus and Linda Yvette Chávez and produced by America Ferrera.

As of press time, the only actor from the main cast that has commented on the cancellation has been J.J. Soria, who played Erik Morales on the series. “On to the next one!” Soria tweeted.

In November, Remezcla called the second season of Gentefied “rich with emotion” and “[maybe] the best show on TV that reps our people.” This is probably why so many people online voiced their displeasure that Netflix decided not to renew the show for a third season.

“I’m still mad!” tweeted Sierra Ornelas, showrunner for Rutherford Falls, who also wrote for Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Superstore. “Like what else are we supposed to do?! Make great shows about Latine by Latine, great performances, genuinely funny, interesting POV?? Like if Gentefied isn’t it, what is one Mexican girl to do?!”

Gentefied writer Arielle Díaz also shared her thoughts about the end of the series and how proud she was to have helped create a show that so many people loved. “This one hurts,” she tweeted. “What an honor to have been a part of this series. Thanks for the ride.”

Garrett McElver, music supervisor for the series, said it was a “bummer” that the show was over and referenced actor Joaquin Cosio’s character Casimiro “Pop” Morales. “This project will always hold a special place in my heart,” he tweeted. “The 2 seasons on Netflix tell a wonderfully complete story about family, and I highly recommend watching if you haven’t yet. For Pop.”

Here are a few other reactions to the news that Gentefied won’t be coming back for Season 3.
