First-look photos from the Hulu original movie It’s a Wonderful Binge were released Monday (November 7), and we’re ready to see what the combination of Eduardo Franco (Stranger Things) and Danny Trejo (Machete Kills) can deliver.

Playing off the title of the 1946 Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life, the comedy sequel follows a group of best friends, including Andrew (Franco), who are getting ready for The Binge, which has moved to the holiday season this year. The Binge, a parody of The Purge franchise, is the only day of the year when all drugs and alcohol are legal to use. The first movie, The Binge, premiered on Hulu in 2020.

In one of the photos released, Franco’s character Andrew stands next to Trejo’s character, who was not in the original movie. While Trejo’s character is all smiles, Andrew looks somewhat confused about something. They seem to be at a political event.

It’s A Wonderful Binge -- All drugs and alcohol are illegal except on the day of the Binge. Several years after their first Binge, best friends Hags, Andrew, Sarah, and Kimi face the realities of young adulthood as the annual Binge Day is moved to Christmas Eve. Amidst the chaos, Hags plans a proposal to Sarah while Andrew deals with his rocky relationships with his family and his girlfriend Kimmi. Will they survive this holiday season? The logline for It’s a Wonderful Binge reads: “Like the original film, the sequel is set in a near future where all drinking and drugs are banned except for on one glorious day known as The Binge. This year, that day happens to miraculously land on Christmas.” The film also promises to be a “new holiday adventure” that features “magical story books, catchy songs, stop-motion animation… and drugs! Lots of them!”

It’s A Wonderful Binge premieres on Hulu on December 9, 2022.
