The viral “Demure” trend that is taking over TikTok and Instagram is not a fashion statement or a product– it’s a state of mind, and members from the cast of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice are promptly embracing the trend. And that includes Jenna Ortega.

In a new promo video shared on the official Beetlejuice Beetlejuice film account, protagonists Ortega and Justin Theroux appear “on set” behind a desk with a life size mannequin of a shrunken headed guy. Ortega is on the phone, while Theroux lightly brushes the shrunken head with a makeup brush. The two take turns mouthing the viral audio, with Ortega comically pointing to the green shrunken head as the audio says “ I don’t come to work with a green cut crease.”

The caption of the video says “The #Beetlejuice #Beetlejuice cast are doing press VERY demure, VERY professional.”

Fans were geeking out to the video, with users commenting on the luck of the shrunken headed guy saying “EVEN THIS MANNEQUIN HAS A BETTER LIFE THAN ME.. GOSH” commented one user, while other comments asked to see more videos, and some that also feature Winona Ryder in a video.

The cast of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice have completed the first stop of their film’s global press tour in Mexico for the highly anticipated sequel, set to release in theaters on September 6, 2024. Theroux is a newcomer to the Beetlejuice sequel, where he plays Rory, Lydia’s husband and Astrid’s (Ortega’s) father.

The audio featured in the video was popularized by Puerto Rican creator, @joolieanniemarie, who originally created the video to share her take on office and work attire. The audio’s popularity has skyrocketed, with users marking a notable shift from “Brat summer” to “Demure Fall.”
