Twitter Is Shocked That Catherine Zeta-Jones Isn’t Actually Latina

Catherine Zeta-Jones is not Latina, but for some, this fact comes as a surprise. Following news that the Welsh actress will play Colombian queenpin Griselda Blanco in Cocaine Godmother, Zeta-Jones has received criticism for taking a role from a Latina/Latin American actress (as well as sparking conversations about the limited roles available for our community). But the casting has also led a some on the internet to voice their disbelief. Some blamed it on her past roles (The Mask of Zorro, where she played a Spanish woman) and others said it was the surname Zeta that confused them.
