Banda MS is busting down the door for música Mexicana in the Call of Duty universe. Today (Oct. 20), the banda group released the music video for their new single “141,” featured in the online game.

Banda MS has helped música Mexicana go mainstream in the past few years. In April, the group performed on the main stage of Coachella. In 2020, they teamed up with Snoop Dogg and Becky for the remix of their hit “Que Maldición.” Now, the banda music act is joining forces with Call of Duty.

“With a portion of the single-player campaign set in Mexico, we knew that we had a unique opportunity in Mexico and the Hispanic market with Modern Warfare II,” said Rodrigo Pérez, Senior Brand Manager, Latin America for Call of Duty, in a statement. “It has been exciting creating something special for the fans of Call of Duty and Banda MS that we have never done before.”

The upcoming launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will include “141.” The title is a nod to the Mexican Special Forces’ Task Force 141 in the game that the character Alejandro Vargas will lead. In the music video, Banda MS explores a secret base in Mexico with files on Vargas strewn about. The fiery song reflects the action of the game, with the group blending their banda music sound with a kick of corrido.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Call of Duty,” said Sergio Lizárraga, founder of Banda MS. “We are proud to contribute to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II with something as engraved in Mexican culture as a corrido. We cannot wait for everyone to listen to our song.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be released globally on Oct. 28.
