A Latine superstar has been added to the 2023 Billboard Music Awards line-up. Today (Nov. 9), Billboard announced that Karol G will perform at the award show later this month.

Back in October, the nominations for this year’s Billboard Music Awards were announced, and Karol G tied with Selena Gomez as the most-nominated Latinas with five each. The Colombian superstar’s nominations include Top Latin Artist, Top Latin Female Artist, Top Latin Touring Artist, Top Latin Album, and Top Latin Song. The winners of the Billboard Music Awards are determined by chart positions, sales, streaming, radio airplay, and other factors. With Karol G making history and debuting at No. 1 with the Mañana Será Bonito album in March, she appears destined to take home a few awards.

Now, Karol G is also confirmed to perform at the Billboard Music Awards. She is the second Latine artist to join the performers line-up following Peso Pluma, announced earlier this week. The Mexican superstar is tied with Bad Bunny as the Latine acts with the most nominations this year. Peso Pluma and Bad Bunny earned six nominations each. In addition to appearing in the Latine music categories, Peso Pluma is also nominated for the major Top New Artist award. Other Latine acts who received multiple nominations this year include Shakira, Eslabon Armado, Fuerza Regida, and Grupo Frontera.

More artists who were previously confirmed to perform include David Guetta and Bebe Rexha, who scored a global hit last year with “Blue.” K-pop group New Jeans will also be hitting the stage. Taylor Swift is the most-nominated artist this year, up for 20 awards. The 2023 Billboard Music Awards will stream live on BBMAs.watch on Sunday, Nov. 19.
