Alex Anwandter gets into a disco groove with Buscabulla. The Chilean singer-songwriter teamed up with the Puerto Rican duo for his new single “Mi Vida En Llamas,” released today (April 24).

Anwandter returned last November with the single queer anthem “Maricoteca.” Since then, he has released multiple singles from his upcoming album El Diablo En El Cuerpo. Anwandter has embraced dance music in his songs like “Precipicio,” “Qué Piensas Hacer Sin Mi Amor,” and “Casa Latina.” Now he is joining forces with the alternative act Buscabulla.

Anwandter channels the chaos in the world today into a disco-inspired ode of hope. In the feel-good banger “Mi Vida En Llamas,” Anwandter and Buscabulla’s Raquel Berrios trade verses about keeping their heads up despite the things going wrong around them. Their voices complement each other well in this dazzling dance track.

“[It’s] about a conversation I had with a girl-friend back in the beginning of the pandemic when both the world and our respective love lives seemed to be going up in flames,” Anwandter shared in a statement. “Overall, it’s a positive song though: it’s about how the world might be a bad place, but life, in spite of all, is pretty wonderful.”

Anwandter’s El Diablo En El Cuerpo album will be released on May 26. The LP also features collaborations with Julieta Venegas, Javiera Mena, and Christina Rosenvinge. Last year, Anwandter helped produce Venegas’ comeback Tu Historia album and her songs like “Mismo Amor” and the title track.

Buscabulla had a breakout moment last year with Bad Bunny. The duo featured on his song “Andrea” from his top-selling album Un Verano Sin Ti. They were joined by other Latine alternative acts like Bomba Estéreo and The Marías on Benito’s LP. Buscabulla’s most recent album Regresa was released in 2020.
