Orbital Vectors
Rafael Universal Vargas is an artist concerned with the cosmos and space travel. His work uses vector shapes that reference patterns based on mathematical laws of nature and the courses taken by astronautical vessels. He will be showing his painstakingly detailed paintings in South Williamsburg with an opening reception this Friday March 4th from 7 to 10pm. The exhibit will be on view until March 14th.

Javier Tellez
Venezuelan artist Javier Tellez has created a film installation using the writings of Antonin Artaud, an avant-garde French writer, poet, and dramatist, as its inspiration. Artaud’s journey to the Sierra Tarahumara in 1936 where he had his first experiences with peyote ceremonies are reimagined in Tellez’s film ‘To Have Done with the Judgment of God.’ The opening is this Friday March 4th from 6 to 8pm, and the show will run through April 16th.

The Blood and the Bones
Argentinean artist José-Ricardo Presman uses sculptural ceiling hangings to communicate the balancing of extremes. The reception will be Friday, March 4th from 7 to 9pm. He will also host a talk entitled ‘From Thinking to Creative Thinking’ analyzing the starting act of thinking as a basis to the creative process.
