If you haven’t noticed from the return of pumpkin spice lattes or the cooling of the temps, Fall is near. And for us lovers of television, that means some of our favorite shows are headed back to the small screen and some new ones are premiering.
And while television has made great strides to bring both more diverse storylines to their shows, and more faces from our underrepresented communities, there is still a way to go. However, that does not mean we can’t celebrate and support the shows who bolster Latine talent.
Let’s have a look at some of the shows coming to our DVRs in the coming weeks with our favorite actors and creators and some new ones, shall we?

9-1-1 (FOX)
9-1-1 is a show that draws from the real-life drama that first responders face on a daily basis. The show, now in its 5th season, stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, and Ryan Guzman. Guzman joined the show in season 2 and is back as Eddie Diaz. The drama has already premiered its first episode for the latest season.
9-1-1 airs Monday nights on FOX 8 p.m.

Ordinary Joe (NBC)
Natalie Martinez is Amy Kindelán, the love interest in one of three timelines to Ordinary Joe’s lead character Joe Kimbreau played by James Wolk. Martinez is no stranger to television having appeared in shows like The Fugitive, The Crossing, and Kingdom. Ordinary Joe is a new show and has already premiered with its first episode.
Ordinary Joe airs Monday nights on NBC at 10 p.m.

A Million Little Things (ABC)
James Roday Rodriguez returns as Gary in the ABC hit drama A Million Little Things. Rodriguez has been vocal about reclaiming his Mexican heritage in real life. So much so that it was weaved into last season’s storyline when his character’s father, played by Paul Rodriguez, became part of the show. Rodriguez and the rest of the cast return on Wednesday, September 22 for the season four premiere on ABC at 10 p.m.

La Brea (NBC)
Jon Seda is Dr. Sam Velez in La Brea on NBC. The show follows a family as they are separated after an enormous sinkhole opens up. La Brea is new to NBC. Seda is known for his roles in Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, and as Chris Perez in Selena opposite Jennifer Lopez. La Brea premieres on Tuesday, September 28 on NBC at 9 p.m.

Station 19 (ABC)
Jaina Lee Ortiz is back as Andy Herrera in Station 19 in the show’s fifth season. The show is a spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy and follows the lives of the men and women in firehouse station 19 in Seattle. Ortiz is known for her roles in television shows The Shop and Shooter. Station 19 premieres on Thursday, September 30 on ABC at 8 p.m.

Magnum P.I. (CBS)
Jay Hernandez is back as Thomas Magnum in the fourth season of Magnum P.I.
In season three Magnum had to say ‘adiós’ to his partner, Juliet Higgins (Perdita Weeks) who left to be with her partner. Where will this leave Magnum? Only one way to find out in the season premiere on October 1 on CBS at 9 p.m.

Legends of the Hidden Temple (The CW)
Cristela Alonzo continues to blaze trails by hosting this game show reboot on The CW network. The show is said to preserve many of the original show’s iconic elements, however, it will be shot in a “mysterious” jungle and not inside a studio. In addition to creating, writing, and starring in Cristela on ABC, the first primetime comedy from a Latina, she is also the first Latina to star in a Pixar movie in Cars 3. Cristela will return to television on Sunday, October 10 on The CW at 8 p.m.
