The holiday season might’ve just ended, but pop superstar Mariah Carey is still in the Christmas spirit. On Wednesday (January 12), Carey announced that she is releasing her very first children’s book – a fairytale about Christmas. The book is called “The Christmas Princess” and features the “Always Be My Baby” singer as a little girl.

“‘The Christmas Princess’ is a fairytale for holiday lovers of all ages,” Carey wrote on social media. “‘Little Mariah’ represents my inner child believing in her own vision. She represents all children, especially those who feel like outsiders or ‘others,’ striving to believe in themselves.”

Carey added that writing the book empowered her “to transform [her] childhood turmoil into a modern classic fairytale full of wonder and boundless hope.”

“The Christmas Princess” is co-written by Michaela Angela Davis, who collaborated with Carey on her 2020 memoir, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey.” It is illustrated by Fuuji Takashi. The character of “Little Mariah” was first introduced to audiences in 2017 for her animated movie “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

“So many of us have been drowning in ‘bleakocity’ for the last year and half, why not create an enchanted land to escape to?” Carey told People. “‘The Christmas Princess’ springs from the same need as my memoir – to emancipate the little girl in me.”

If anyone has the authority to say Christmas isn’t over yet, it’s Carey.

Plus, now we have the perfect stocking stuffers for the young readers in our families.

“The Christmas Princess” is set to be released in the fall of 2022.
