Singer Christian Nodal raised some eyebrows when he spoke vaguely during a concert about how he’s taken “venganza” despite knowing it’s something that kills and poisons the soul.

“Have any of you been done wrong by love?” Nodal asked concertgoers from the stage. “Me too… the point is that, as El Chavo said, revenge is not good, it kills the soul and poisons it, and you already know how ugly that is, right? But I got to tell you that I got my revenge, and it was good.”

According to Infobae, which posted the video from the concert, Nodal made the comments during a recent performance in Latin America. While Nodal doesn’t mention his ex-fiancée Belinda, people are assuming that he’s speaking about his relationship with her, which ended last month.

Infobae is also reporting that at another recent concert, Nodal talked about one of his songs in reference to Belinda.

“The following song was composed at a time in my life, about four or five years ago, when I did not know that the most beautiful things in life could not be bought – things like loyalty, respect, love, fidelity, trust, a good friendship,” Nodal allegedly said.

Since their breakup, rumors about Nodal and Belinda have been floating around, including the theory that their engagement was called off over money issues. Neither side has given much detail about why their relationship ended, but it seems like Nodal is trying to move on by covering up his Belinda tattoos. Is that the “revenge” he was talking about, maybe?
